The Technology

How Thermal
Infrared Repair Works

Heat Design Equipment infrared technology softens asphalt to 220°F in minutes — no cutting, no hauling, no seams. A thermally bonded, permanent repair back in service within 30 minutes.

1

Surface Preparation

Area cleared of debris and water. Infrared panel positioned above damaged surface — heating a zone larger than the repair area to eliminate cold spots and edge failure.

2

Infrared Heating — 5 to 10 Minutes

HDE infrared heaters penetrate 2.5" to 220°F — softening without burning or oxidizing. Existing material recycled in place. No hauling. No waste.

3

Scarify, Blend & Grade

Softened asphalt scarified, oxidized material removed, fresh asphalt blended in, area graded to correct elevation and drainage.

4

BOMAG Compaction & Thermal Bond

Vibratory compaction — edges first to pinch the seam — creates a thermal bond with surrounding pavement. No joints. No seams. No future water infiltration.

5

Open to Traffic — 30 Minutes

Area cools and reopens to traffic within 30 minutes. Permit documentation and warranty certificate provided. Job closed.
